To Sleep Perchance to Dream is a Chronicle set in Britain by Night ten years after the events of the Fall of London. The Chronicle serves as an introduction to the diverse and varied Kindred politics of the United Kingdom.

The English Capital is in disarray, at least for the supernatural beings of the world, Queen Anne is missing, many Elders have vanished to pursue the beckoning. With no firm Kindred power structure in place, Anarch and Sabbat alike battle for the scraps. The City finally belongs to the mortals with the Second Inquisition keeping a firm grip on London, the most surveilled city in Europe. Airports, train stations, shopping malls and the busiest parts of London are high risk for Kindred, phones and the internet a death sentence without care. Shrecknet is dismantled. Kindred must rely on their wits and cunning.
In one Borough of London; Croydon, the Camarilla somehow still clings with a tenuous grip, attempting to form a staging post to perhaps someday take back the rest of London. In charge acting Prince, Toreador, Zee Cross has been far more successful than anyone could have imagined. Under Prince Zee’s command, Croydon has avoided countless Second Inquisitions attacks. Somehow safer than the rest of London, it has become a safe haven for many displaced Kindred. Some are starting to believe that the Camarilla can take back the City from the SI hunters.

This safe haven comes at a cost however, Croydon harbours far too many vampires for it’s small population, which puts the Masquerade under increased pressure. Likewise the miraculous security draws the eyes of Anarchs’ and Sabbat alike who long to know Croydon’s secret at evading the Second Inquisition and take it for their own use. Feeding is strictly rationed inside Croydon to reduce the impact but this puts further pressure on the Kindred within.
Rumours are rife as to how Prince Cross, is avoiding the Second Inquisition. Some tell of dark deals with the Tremere of Warwickshire, others of double dealing with the Inquisition itself. What is the truth? That is for the Coteries of the UK to discover for themselves.
Can London be recovered or will Croydon follow the same fate and fall? It all begins with a Heist but the truth may unravel if the right threads are pulled.
Britain by Night gives Storytellers and players a chance to explore Britain after the Fall of London. Although designed to start in a Camarilla domain in post-fall London, the story has huge potential to explore all of the (not-so) United Kingdom and it’s varied
cultures and Kindred politics.
There are opportunities to explore and play in a variety of diverse and exciting environments and can be adjusted or adapted by a storyteller to tell the same story from a different perspective. Perhaps the Camarilla Kindred somehow clinging to a tenuous hold, looking to retake London, visitors from other domains such as Edinburgh or Warwickshire. The enemies of the Camarilla are always looking to infiltrate, the options are endless.
Anarch hold power in many UK cities, the Scottish city of Glasgow and Inverness, or English cities of Bristol, Manchester and Liverpool. Newport, Wales also is a free city, not under the sway of Cardiff, and seeking to undermine its influence. Perhaps you dare to make deals with the Hecata of Belfast? This book gives a starting story to begin your Chronicle and a wealth of source material to keep your own British World of Darkness busy for a long time.
